The £50 tag is only the starting point
The standard English Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box has a £49.99 listing at Smyths. Three selected UK eBay listings marked sold on Saturday afternoon showed £73.51, £80 and £85 including the delivery quoted when checked. TGC’s £54.95 listing was sold out. These are different measures: a shop’s price tag does not mean you can order it.
If you missed Friday’s launch, the useful question is how much the exact box costs to get to you. An Elite Trainer Box, often shortened to ETB, contains packs plus a promo card and accessories. Compare the same edition before comparing the price.
Retail tags and resale bills, side by side
The gap is visible in this small sample. It does not tell us that prices rose or fell since Friday, or that every seller is achieving the same amount. We have not built a comparable two-day market index.
What the shop pages actually say
| Shop | Exact format | Listed GBP | What we could verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smyths | Standard ETB · 9 packs | £49.99 | Listed price; stock not established |
| TGC | Standard ETB · 9 packs | £54.95 | Sold out |
| Smyths | Booster Bundle · 6 packs | £24.99 | Listed price; stock not established |
| TGC | Booster Bundle · 6 packs | £24.95 | Sold out |
| TGC | Booster display · 36 packs | £154.95 | Sold out |
TGC’s standard ETB remained £54.95 and sold out in the saved Friday-evening check, Saturday’s noon check and our fresh evening read. Its product-specific disabled Sold out button takes precedence over generic dispatch text elsewhere on the page.
Smyths lists the standard ETB as product 265001, with nine packs and a Kyogre promo. Its category also lists the six-pack Booster Bundle at £24.99. We did not establish deliverable or branch stock for either. These prices are retailer asking prices, not a newly verified UK recommended retail price.
For TGC’s unavailable products, the site advertises free UK delivery above £30. That does not turn a sold-out listing into an offer you can buy. Smyths delivery and branch availability need checking for the actual order.
Three actual sold listings, including postage
| Sold 7 Nov GMT | Displayed GBP | UK delivery | Observed total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 17:50 · micsm806323 | £68.30 | £5.21 | £73.51 |
| 17:40 · macspackstcg | £80.00 | £0.00 | £80.00 |
| 16:58 · alscardden | £85.00 | £0.00 | £85.00 |
The three different sellers showed one sealed standard English box each. We checked the original listing, completion time, actual box photograph and UK delivery quote. All times above are London GMT on 7 November 2026. The amounts already include eBay’s displayed Buyer Protection fee: do not add that fee twice.
For the £73.51 example, that is £68.30 including the £3.30 buyer fee, plus £5.21 postage. The other two listings showed free UK delivery. These public quotes are not historical checkout receipts. A sold banner does not prove later payment, dispatch or delivery, and we are not claiming all three sellers explicitly stated in-hand stock.
This is a selected three-listing afternoon snapshot, not every sale that day. We left hidden accepted-offer prices, damaged or opened boxes, bundles of several products and Pokémon Center editions out of the comparison.

The box check before the price check
Standard ETB: nine packs. Do not mix it with the Pokémon Center edition, a six-pack Booster Bundle, a 36-pack display, an empty accessory box or a listing with extra packs. A low headline price can describe a different product.
Read the actual photograph and description, then check whether it is sealed, damaged, a preorder or ready to dispatch. Include postage and the displayed buyer fee once. If the seller’s catalogue fields clash with the box photograph, resolve the identity before relying on the listing.
